Extraordinary Life and Teachings of Khadro-la: A Guardian of Tibetan Buddhism

Khadro-la, the State Medium of the Tenma Oracle, holds a significant role in Tibetan Buddhism as the kuten, or the physical basis, of the Tenma Goddesses, who are Twelve Guardian Deities. Located in Dharamsala, India, Khadro-la serves as an oracle, consulted and honored by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It's worth noting that while the Dalai Lama consults several oracles, the official state oracle of Tibet is the Nechung oracle.

In her role, Khadro-la offers prayers and guidance, demonstrating deep guru devotion and humility. One notable instance of her devotion is reflected in her long life prayer for Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, expressed with sincerity and tenderness in Tibetan, capturing the essence of her spiritual commitment.

The book "Sun of Devotion Stream of Blessings" by Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archives (2016) contains insightful teachings by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, including touching recollections about Khadro-la, showcasing her profound impact within the Tibetan Buddhist community.

Despite her influential role, Khadro-la maintains humility, expressing in a 2008 interview with Mandala magazine her belief in the essence of life: realizing bodhichitta and emptiness. She humbly acknowledges her limitations, stating her primary wish is to achieve unwavering faith in these principles before her passing.

Khadro-la's focus on spiritual realization is evident in her statement: "If I cannot help people to generate these things, our meeting is just a waste of time." Her dedication lies not in worldly possessions or status but in nurturing spiritual growth and understanding.

An interview conducted by Ven. Roger Kunsang for Mandala magazine in 2008 further sheds light on Khadro-la's profound insights and spiritual aspirations. She reflects on her inner, outer, and secret perspectives, emphasizing her commitment to the Dharma and her teachers as the cornerstone of her being.

In the October – December 2012 edition of Mandala magazine, Khadro-la suggests practical measures, such as using stupas, to minimize harm from natural elements on the West coast. This practical wisdom combined with her spiritual depth exemplifies her holistic approach to serving humanity and preserving the Dharma.

Khadro-la's life story is a testament to the transformative power of spiritual practice and unwavering dedication to the path of enlightenment. Her teachings and example continue to inspire countless practitioners, reminding us of the profound impact one individual can have in upholding and propagating the wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism.
